Ever wonder where some middle names come from?

This is my great-grandfather, on my father's side, Bernard Farren Wait.

Some years ago, when Paul and I first got interested in doing Geneology, I got in touch with my grandfather's sister's son and his wife. Ann had been doing work on the Wait side of the family for years and gave us a large notebook filled with information. One of the things she gave us was an excerpt from a book called "Early Days of Turners Falls."

It is an article written about a man named Bernard Farren, and mostly what I want you to read are the last two paragraphs.

I was so excited when I read this. My great great-grandfather, Henry Wait, named his first son after his boss, Bernard Farren. It was the captured conversation, though, between Barney Farren and Henry Wait that made it so personal.

This just reinforces my thoughts about how important it is to record every day life. It doesn't matter which way you choose to do it; blogging, scrapbooking, photo books, or writing it down in a notebook. Just do it!

Project Life 2013, Week Thirty-Nine and Vacation, 4th Blue Ridge Parkway and Trip down South 2013 - Day 6

Here is Week 39, Page 1

and Page 2

I am also trying to finish my vacation pages. We went to the Blue Ridge Parkway back in May and I still haven't finished them. This is Day 6.

So that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Throwback Thursday - My friend Judy

Recently a childhood friend of mine, Judy, had some scary health problems. It hit me that we are much too young to have these kind of problems. Or are we? 63. We are getting up there. It reminded me to take as good care of my health as I can and to appreciate every day.

This picture was taken in our Pastor's kitchen. Kathy, the pastor's daughter, was having a birthday party. They moved in 1965, so this picture was some time before then. We were probably about 13 or 14, so the year was 1963-64.

My friend Judy is in the center with the whitish sweater on. I am in the back, second over from Judy on the right.

Good memories. Judy lives in Florida now and I haven't seen her in years, but I still consider her one of my best friends ever.
