More Birthday Celebrations

Today we went to Mark's girlfriend's mom's house in Woburn, MA for a cookout. Not only did we have the normal cookout fare, but the hit of the day was lobsters. Marley was a good sport and tried a bite or two; not so for me! The game of corn hole was a big hit until long after dark (even with the mosquitoes out in force). The day ended with a birthday celebration. Janelle's birthday is just six days after Mark's (to add to the already five birthdays between August 22nd and September 23rd) complete with cake and flowers. Thank you Stacia; it was a great day!

Technology

Technology these days just blows me away; and I'm sure I don't even know the half of it. Two of my friends from work went to Hampden Beach this weekend. They called and told me to go on the Internet to a hotel's website and watch their webcam. All of a sudden I saw Cindy and Leslee waving at me as I was talking to them on the phone. Unbelievable!

7th Annual Paul and Marley Zoo Picture

It all started back in 2002 when I took a picture of Paul and Marley walking at the Forest Park Zoo. My mother-in-law, Priscilla, loved the picture and a tradition was begun. Each year I have taken a new "zoo picture." Paul says the last one will be at Marley's wedding.

Happy Birthday Kristen!

I can't believe I am old enough to have a daughter who is 36 with a family of her own! Where did the time go? Last time I looked, she was about to enter second grade, just as Marley is. I can see her rolling her eyes as she reads this. She won't know what I am talking about until her daughter is an adult, but time does fly by.

Happy Birthday Kris. I love you.

A Video Post by Paul

This video started out as a joke. I had collected digital camera clips where Debbie was talking into the camera. I kind of liked it, so I added some music and this is it.

Oh My Goosh!

Paul and I have been spending a lot of time lately at Borders Bookstore at the mall. Our kids know we go there, so it seems whenever they are at the mall, they stop by to see if we are there. Tonight Kris, Toby, and Marley stopped in to say hi. Marley likes to pick out a book and read it with me. She likes to read one page and then have me read the next one, etc. So we were reading a Junie B. book and she got to a part on her page where Junie B. said "Oh my Gosh". Without skipping a beat she read "Oh my Goosh." I started to laugh (which she was not real happy with). Maybe it was one of those times when you had to be there, but it sure made me laugh!

Happy Birthday Big Baba!

Today was my father-in-law's birthday. Ever since I can remember, he has not wanted to celebrate his birthday. The only exception to that is when it comes to Marley. She is welcome to celebrate his birthday. Because we have so many birthdays between August 22nd and September 23rd, we usually pick a convenient date during that month and celebrate all of us at once. But, yesterday was his actual birthday, and it was on a Friday (which is Grandma, Marley and the Babas' night) so we had a little party. Marley came fully loaded with present, card and birthday cake. Her daycare lady, Junie, is taking a cake decorating class. Somehow she found out that it was Marley's Big Baba's birthday tonight and she made a tiny cake, completely decorated just like a professional cake. Marley made a clay pig, and also a really cute card. I think Big Baba was really pleased with all the attention from Marley on his B-day.

Tennis Practice

Rumor has it that Mark is getting back into tennis. The timing is perfect as Marley just got a new tennis set, and is always willing to practice with him.

A new way to get rid of an apple

Today we took a ride to Vermont to visit my favorite scrapbook store. On the way we stopped at an apple orchard and got a couple of apples. We were driving along, eating our apples, enjoying the day. Paul threw his apple core out of his window into a wooded area. I thought that was a good idea because apple cores start to smell fast in the trash and the day was young. When I finished mine we were driving through woods so I said, "Here, throw mine in the woods." He took the apple core and without missing a beat threw it as hard as he could out MY window. The only problem being my window was closed. There was a loud "thud" and then there was apple mush all over the window with bits and pieces all over me. At first neither one of us knew what happened. He thought I wanted him to throw the apple out my window (I certainly could have done that). Well, I started to laugh so hard, no sounds came out. I could hardly catch my breath. We must have laughed about that for at least 5 minutes. I still smile just thinking about it.
