It's been a long hot summer with the windows closed and the air conditioners on. Now that the cooler weather is here, the cats are really enjoying the windows open. They love to sit in the windows, smell the air and look for birds and bugs.
If they tried, they could both get in the same window but I guess they need their boundaries. This is the changing of the guard.
