Vacation, 2nd Blue Ridge Parkway and Trip down South 2011 - Day 3, Happy July 4th!

This is where Paul wanted to have dinner tonight!

We ended up spending the day in our motel room. We were both tired from two days of driving and Paul stumbled onto an HBO miniseries about John Adams. We watched it for about five hours. Actually, it was a good way to spend the 4th of July; very patriotic.

So... by 5 o'clock we were starving. We were thinking BBQ again, so Paul put into the Garmin BBQ near Charlottesville. The first place was no longer there. This (and the picture above) was the second place.

There was no way that I was going in there. He said those kind of places made the best barbecue. Thank God it is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

This was the third place.

A little better, but not much. Luckily that was closed too. We gave up on BBQ and ended up eating at Wood Grill Buffet. It was really crowded and as we were waiting Paul said "It must be a pretty good place. Not all of these people could be first timers." That cracked me up. Sometimes he can be really funny. Maybe you had to be there, ha.

Another thunderstorm this evening. I'm talking you have to pull off the road thunderstorm; you can't even see to drive. I feel bad for the City of Charlottesville. They had a whole evening of events planned with fireworks, but I'm sure everything must be cancelled or at least water-logged.
