Throwback Thursday - Fred and Priscilla's 25th Anniversary party

This week would have been my in-laws 70th anniversary!

My father-in-law has been without her for 15 years.  I can't imagine it.

Priscilla and Fred got married April 30, 1949 in Priscilla's back yard.

For their 25th anniversary Paul and I had a party at our house.  It was 1974; I was pregnant with Mark, and Kristen was 1 year, 8 months old.

We had all of their close friends from church plus Nan and Dot and Priscilla's mom (they helped me a lot with the planning and food.  What did I know about planning a party at 23? LOL.)

Sadly, only two of the people in the above picture (besides me) are still alive, my father-in-law being one of them.  Good people, good memories.

241/365 Sunday....

First of all, Marley won the Candy Bar Contest in her 3rd grade Sunday School Class.



It really was a lot of memory work. She did a great job! This is the largest candy bar I have ever seen; 5 lbs.

These are her two teachers. She has loved her class this year and it is because these two ladies put so much into their class.




After church we went to our annual cookout in Woburn with Janelle's family and friends.

It was all you could eat lobster. Does Paul look like he is happy?

243/365 - Happy 39th Anniversary (two days ago)

Monday night at Borders. I went off to get something to read, and this was what I found on my chair when I got back. In case you can't read it, his apron says 39th anniversary. Actually, the reason they have the bear is that Seattle's Best coffee, which is served at Borders, is 39 years old.

239/365 - 39th wedding anniversary

We drove home today along the coast. We spent some time in Old Orchard Beach and also York Beach. Since it will be our 39th wedding anniversary in two days, we thought it would be apropos to take a picture of ourselves in front of the motel where we spent our honeymoon!

Our room was the middle room on the second floor of the wing that you can see in the left of the picture. The curtains were open and no one was in that room so I peeked in the window. Believe it or not, I can remember this room; it hasn't changed much in 39 years!
