White roses and Alpaca scarves

Paul came home from work with these beautiful white roses for me. He does that every now and then, brings me flowers for no reason. Aren't they pretty?

Also, as I mentioned in a previous post, Kristen is in the midst of tracking all of her knitting projects and, in the process, finishing up some old ones. She gave Mark part of this scarf for Christmas 2010. She does that sometimes, gives you something that isn't finished and then takes it back to finish!! Anyhow, she finished it and gave it to Mark tonight. It is so soft; Alpaca wool. It looks good on him, don't you think?

Kristen's knitting projects

Kristen has started up her knitting blog for the new year to keep track of her current projects and is also in the process of trying to track some of her old projects. Today she wanted me to take some pictures of our socks. She brought her sock blanket and we matched up the socks with it. In the picture above, she is trying to explain her tracking system to Janelle!

Now, if she would only learn to darn (I got my first hole in my oldest sock!!).

In Knitting News.....

Today Kristen brought over a knitting book that a fellow knitter at her knitting group from Web's wrote, 2-at-a-time Socks. Kris was a sample knitter for one of the socks featured in the book. The author, Melissa Morgan-Oakes gave this book to Paul and me.

Also, a new knitter has hit the scene. Her name is Marley, and this is her first attempt at knitting. She tells me she is making a scarf for her friend Meghan for Christmas.
