Sunday Dinner

Today we had a big family Sunday dinner here. My Dad, Marge and Lori came; Dot, Fred, Kris, Toby and Marley, Mark, Janelle and Mason, along with Janelle's Dad Joe and her sister Amy. Quite a crowd (15 in all). My Dad had quite a scare with his health lately. His biopsy came back negative, and he is really feeling much better. We all had a really good time together today. Sometimes things happen to make you realize how special family is and how you need to make time to spend together.

311/365 - Sunday afternoon

This summer there were two little riding toys that I kept outside for Mason. Even though he was really too young to ride them he loved pushing them. I brought one of them in a month ago or so but the other one stayed outside. Today, Mark brought this one in too. He loves it; he calls it his car. He pushed that thing around the house all day. This is a picture of him giving his froggy a ride. My scrapbooking friend Janice gave this toy to me (her grandchildren had outgrown it) when Marley was about Mason's age.

We had a nice Sunday afternoon today. Janelle's dad and her sister came for dinner along with the rest of the gang. Even though sometimes it's hectic, one of my greatest pleasures is to see my family having a good time together. There were some years when my kids were young when I seriously wondered whether that would ever happen; I wondered whether they would ever enjoy being together. I'm glad I lived long enough to see it - LOL!

On another note, Marley had a two hour practice this afternoon for the Christmas musical at church. She wanted to try out for the opening narrator's part. She had the whole thing memorized perfectly. She was so excited when she came home to tell us that she got the part - way to go Marley! I know she is going to do a great job.

220/365 - Cooling off....

This afternoon Marley and Mason cooled off in the little pool. I think Marley has met her match - Mason doesn't mind the cold at all. I put the pool out as soon as we got home from church, but by the time they went in it was still pretty cold. Paul sprayed the hose up in the air - that was a real treat. Finally, Marley has someone to play with in the pool!





Mason started walking this weekend. He forgets about walking when he really wants to get somewhere, but then he will stand up and toddle awhile! Mark says it is just in time. He is building up quit a callus on both knees.

He liked walking this bike backwards!

Father's Day

What a fun day Father's Day was this year.

Toby cooked for us - we had lots of chicken, hamburgs and hot dogs left over from Mason's birthday party.






This was Mason's first time in the pool. He wasn't too sure of it until Marley got in with him.



It's nice to have a baby in the house again. Watching Mason learn and experience things is so much fun.




Paul got his second sock from Kristen (he got the first one on his birthday in May)

Another Sunday afternoon

Remember how much Izzy loves her cat video? Well, now she has company. Minnie seems to like it almost as much!



P.S. Mason is just about crawling now, frontwards.

Sunday afternoon

This afternoon we had a birthday party for Izzy (left) and Minnie (right) who turned 2. Minnie was a stray and we don't know when her actual birthday is. Our vet thinks she is about the same age as our other cat Izzy so we celebrated both of their birthdays today. They each got a special appetizer, and some treats. They are two spoiled cats!

Mason kept us entertained playing on the floor with his ball. He is at such a cute age. He is trying to crawl, but right now he can only go backwards and in circles. He sure is cute, isn't he?



The afternoon wore Mason and Paul out, and they just had to take a nap! (Actually, Paul started out trying to sing Mason to sleep and ended up singing them both to sleep:) Just an average Sunday afternoon at our house.

Sunday Afternoon

What a freezing cold day! Yesterday I asked Paul what we should have for Sunday dinner and he suggested cooking hamburgs outside. He said he would cook. Last night, in the middle of the night, he got some kind of stomach flu. The kids were all warned but decided to come over today anyhow (Paul stayed in the bedroom all afternoon). Poor Toby cooked the hamburgs outside. It was about 23 degrees. I felt a little guilty about it, but he was cool with it (literally)!!



Mason is eating baby food now. Today's entry was corn casserole. As soon as he sees the spoon his mouth opens. Just like a little bird.

We did hula hoops - Toby is the reigning high scorer. It looks easier than it is.

I think Paul is feeling a little better tonight. I sure hope I don't get it!
