Sad Pictures of Borders

Today we went to the mall. I bought an iPad at the Apple store. On the way to the Apple store we had to go by Borders. I just had to stop and take some pictures. It's very sad.

The far right corner is where Paul and I used to sit (if it was empty) on Monday nights.

Borders is Closing!!!

Why, you might ask, is Paul sitting in the Children's Department at Borders? Because it is closing soon and the little cafe area with the leather chairs is closed, you can't even go in there.

This is so sad! I'm not sure what is going to be able to take its place. It was such a nice relaxing time, Monday night at Borders. It's not fair!

340/365 - Christmas shopping

Tonight I met Kristen, Janelle and Mason at the mall to do some Christmas shopping for Marley and Mason. Marley, obviously, was not there but Mason is too young to know what was going on. Every now and then we would let him out of the carriage to walk around. We didn't get far with him walking...he is easily distracted!




Paul's contribution to the shopping was to sit (and at times sleep) at Borders and wait for us to drop off packages.



At least I made a dent in the shopping tonight!

We're home and boy have I missed these two! Tonight Paul and I met Kris, Marley, Janelle and Mason at Borders. I loved being on vacation but I could never live far away from the kids.

Mason at Borders

Tonight we met Janelle and Mason at Borders.  We let him crawl around in the children's area and he just loved this toy there.  At times he just stood there banging on it.  Janelle said it was her new favorite place!  He was so funny to watch.

On the Eve of Mason's 1st birthday.....

Tonight Paul and I met Janelle and Mason at the mall to do some birthday shopping and to check out a place to get his picture taken (Mark was working). We met Kris, Toby and Marley at Borders and just hung out for awhile (luckily we had the whole little sitting area to ourselves)!

Patriot's Day

Marley slept overnight last night as this is school vacation week and I had today off from work. I was still a little tired from my sleepless sleepover Friday night, so we just hung out at home. We did get the outside of the fairy house cleaned up. It's always a mess after the winter. We even planted some flower seeds outside the front door! With the outside cleaned up, Marley can work at her "leisure" on the inside.

Later that evening we met Kris and Toby, and Janelle and Mason at the mall. At the end of the night we were in Borders and I just happened to look over at Marley and Toby. They were both doing that weird foot thing. They rest their feet on their toes somehow. It must be hereditary!

With the time change yesterday, by the time we got to Borders tonight after work it was already dark out :(

I guess summer is finally here; at least this is one of the hottest days so far. No hot tea for us at Borders tonight, but the ice tea was very good!

124/365 - Weird escalator

Tonight we went to the Mall (Monday night at Borders) and next to Borders they are working on a new store. Years ago when Lord and Taylor was at the Mall, it used to be a huge store with two floors and its own door to the outside. Part of Lord and Taylor was made into the Borders store and the rest was blocked off with a wall. Lately, they have been working on a new store (XXII ??) and the weird thing is that the escalator from Lord and Taylor is right at the opening of this new store. I can't imagine how this is going to look when it's done. It's interesting to watch though!

113/365 - Monday Night at Borders

This is poor Paul, waiting at Borders while I shop. Actually, this is the third time in less than a week that we have been at the mall. At least tonight I ended up buying something that (I think) I like. I only have three more days to change my mind!

96/365 - The Digital Photography Book

This was the book I was reading at Border's tonight. It is, hands down, the best photography book I have read yet. It not only explains how to take different types of pictures, it gives you the settings to use, how to pose people for portraits, the best way to take landscape pictures, etc., all in plain English. I eventually will have to buy this one.

Monday night at Borders. We almost always have tea (sometimes goodies, but not tonight). I love the paperback books Images of America series. Tonight I read Holyoke, and Feeding Hills Revisited.

47/365 - Monday night at Borders

Monday night means Borders at the Mall. Today we had Marley. You can read about our morning at Marley's Blog. We spent the afternoon at the Springfield Museums and had a great time. You can read about that at Debbie's Blog . Tonight we met Kristen at the Mall. She and I did some shopping and Marley opted to stay with Paul at Borders. I just couldn't help taking this picture of them when we got back. They just looked so cute reading together.

26/365 - Sandwich after work

Monday night is Borders night at the mall. Sometimes we eat at the mall. This morning I suggested that Paul make me a sandwich to eat on the way to the mall. This is what I saw when I got into the car. Supper on a tray - salami and cheese sandwich, chips, brownie, Diet Coke, clementine and a wet facecloth to clean up with. It pays to be married to someone who works in a restaurant!!
