Summer Sunday

This has been a rather unusual summer. We have only been kayaking once, haven't played corn hole once, and haven't even had the little pool out much.

I think Paul and I have PTSD from the events leading up to and then the placing of Dot at the Atrium. We have been so tired this summer!

Anyhow, today we got the bubbles and the little pool out and the kids had so much fun. I remember the hours Marley used to play in this little pool. She still likes to play with Mason in it. Marley is such a good big cousin.

Summer Sunday

Today was a very hot Sunday. Not as bad as the last few days but still hot. Almost too hot to be outside in the little pool... at least for me, Kris and Janelle. Mason and Marley kept cool though!






Marley has been into playing with Legos lately. This was the first time that we thought it would be alright to have them out with Mason here. He is not the type to put things in his mouth so we took a chance. He loved them. All through dinner he kept saying "play Legos?" These used to be Kristen's and Mark's. We sure have a lot of them!

243/365 - A very hot day

Today I had both Marley and Mason. Marley stayed overnight last night and Mason came around 2 o'clock when his Dad went to work. The kids played in the little pool for quite awhile. I had filled the pool a couple of hours before they went in so the water wouldn't be so cold, but it was so hot out that I had to add cold water!


I think Mason loves the water as much as Marley.



Here Marley was feeding him a freeze pop. He loved it!

By the time supper was over I was wondering how I ever survived having two children of my own. I guess I was a lot younger......but I love it!

220/365 - Cooling off....

This afternoon Marley and Mason cooled off in the little pool. I think Marley has met her match - Mason doesn't mind the cold at all. I put the pool out as soon as we got home from church, but by the time they went in it was still pretty cold. Paul sprayed the hose up in the air - that was a real treat. Finally, Marley has someone to play with in the pool!





Mason started walking this weekend. He forgets about walking when he really wants to get somewhere, but then he will stand up and toddle awhile! Mark says it is just in time. He is building up quit a callus on both knees.

He liked walking this bike backwards!

199/365 - The Sprinkler

Today was the first time Marley has played in the sprinkler this year at Grandma's. She can still occupy herself with a little bit of water for hours!

132/365 - Paris Nails

Tonight Kris and I had pedicures at Paris Nails. We have been going there since 2004 so we have gotten to know the two girls who own the shop. They are Vietnamese and we love their accents (although sometimes with the masks on it can be a little hard to understand them). They sure do a good job every May to make our feet "summer presentable."
