Scrapbook crop
Today I went to my friend Janice's house for our monthly scrapbook crop. Janice had cataract surgery this week. She said her sunglasses were "comforting" because she was off-balance, only having one cataract done. She's having the other one done in two weeks.
We had a fun time today, as always. Janice and her sister Elaine are just the funniest people.

Break in
Today Toby came home from work and noticed the back door was ajar, then he noticed the door knob. Someone had broken into their house. They took laptops, camera, Marley's new DS that she got for her (early) birthday, and the penny jar, along with a suitcase (with Toby's bathing suits in it) that hadn't gotten completely unpacked from Disney.
The Police are working on it, but the idea of someone in your house, going through your things is very unsettling. Sometimes life is not fair.

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday. We had 13 for dinner; a huge 18 lb ham that Toby picked out this year, a Budaball ham which was delicious.
Janelle's mom Stacia brought desserts. My aunt Dot came for dinner and seemed to enjoy herself.
The kids looked so cute.
Mark showed Mason the First Birthday book that I made for him.
I tried to get a picture of Marley and Mason together, but he wasn't having any of it.
Not even with his parents!
This one was a little better.
It was a great day (even though I was on call for work and actually had to type from home in my family room in the middle of utter chaos). Good food, good family memories, and also remembrance of what this day means to all of us who know Christ as Savior.

Forest Park Zoo
Patriots Day 2011. It's a tradition that Marley spends Patriot's Day with us and we try to do something fun. This year Paul, Marley and I met Mark, Janelle and Mason at Forest Park Zoo (Toby and Kristen both had to work). It was Mason's first time there and he really seemed to have a good time.
We all loved the monkeys.
Here are some pictures of our day.
We all have funny looks on our faces here. I wish I knew what we were looking at!
We tried to get Mason to put his "arms out" with the rest of us, but instead he put his legs out. Too funny!
We also got our yearly picture of Baba and Marley at the park, and Marley and Mason at the park, but that will be for another blog!

Dyeing Easter Eggs
Today we dyed Easter eggs.
Marley and I got everything set up and actually started before everyone came for dinner.
There were a couple of cracked ones and Paul got to make an egg salad sandwhich.
Janelle got involved. There were eggs for Kris, Toby, and Marley to take home, eggs for Mark, Janelle and Mason, and also eggs for Big Baba to take home.
These were the eggs that stayed at my house.
Marley also brought over her "pins" from her trip to Disney. They had a great time and Marley can't wait to go back.

Girls Ministries Sleepover
Tonight was the sleepover for Girls Ministries. This is the 4th time that Marley and I have done this.
I had been sick with some type of virus all week so I decided that I couldn't stay overnight. I helped out during the evening but skipped out at about 11 o'clock when the girls bedded down to watch Tangled.
It was a fun night for the girls. There were crafts, games, food, a sort of comedy/skit show, and a movie.
Here are some of the pictures from the evening.

Cape weekend, day 2
Today we went to the Cape Cod National Seashore which is very close to the motel we stayed at. It was absolutely beautiful there.
This is the old Coastguard Lighthouse Station at Coastguard Beach. This is also the place where the storm of 1978 took part of the parking lot and bath houses out to sea. This is also the same storm that took The Outermost House out to sea on the same beach.
We got a call from my Dad saying that my aunt Dot wasn't answering her door or her phone. He called to ask where to get keys to her house. We were about to head home, thinking the worst, when he called back to say she had gone out to eat with her friend Steph! It gave us all quite a scare.
We decided to head down to Falmouth and Woods Hole. This is the ferry that goes to Martha's Vineyard.
I was surprised that I only saw one "little door" this whole trip. This one was in Woods Hole.
The cranberry bogs were red all over the cape. This one in Woods Hole was one of the bigger ones.
Seafood Sam's again. This one was in Sandwich near the canal (diets start tomorrow!).
I thought these seagulls were very picturesque.
We drove through Plymouth on the way home looking for a museum that Paul's uncle was supposed to have. We found the museum but it was empty. We're not sure what that was all about; we'll have to find out.
We got home at 9:00. What a fun little getaway!
